This M2 paratrooper helmet is what would have been used during the D Day campaign by a member of the 1st Battalion of the 506th PIR of the 101st Airborne. It comes complete with all the accessories pictured and has been weathered to replicate what a true "battle" tested piece would probably look like if found today, with all the rust, stress fractures and liner damage... ultra realistic!
One ARTEFAKE replicated
US WWII M2 helmet shell (front seam) with "factory modified" airborne helmet liner (with early steel snaps)
The M2 helmet retains an excellently aged finish. It has the correct exterior paint, cork texture, and D bale chinstrap loops. The 506th 1st Battalion emblem and rear NCO leadership bar have been added and aged.
It has aged shuttle loom sewn airborne chinstraps set with original hardware and aged snaps. They have the early buckle and J hook. It also comes with an original 3/4" helmet net.
The M1 liner provided with this helmet is an original wartime WESTINGHOUSE jump liner that has been brought "back to life". It will have an original HBT cloth suspension, which includes upper suspension, lace cord, back strap, nape strap, internal airborne snaps, leather liner chinstrap, chin cup (with sewn chamois lining) and seamlessly aged "shuttle loomed" A straps, which is often the only component I have to add to these.
This piece pretty much speaks for itself and is for the more serious collectors looking to complete or create a display.
This item is one of a kind and available for immediate shipment and can be purchased through the website
Note: As I am using original WWII WESTINGHOUSE jump liners for these, some might have one or two small cracks in the rear. A reproduction sweatband will be provided (not pictured).
