Reproduction US WWII Army identification flag for Paratrooper, Airborne, Glider and Regular Infantry units. This 4.7 inch x 2.7 inch muslin cloth flag is a perfect replica of the identification flag issued to the paratroopers and glider infantry of the 82nd Airborne during the Normandy Invasion. A large 1 inch border surrounds the actual flag print.
In the early war years, such as the North African Campaign, the use of identification flags was not uncommon for US troops. Other models were known to be made out of a plasticized cloth and were made in various sizes. These flags were worn by many of the initial assault troops and were not just restricted to paratroopers.
