US WWII M2 Paratrooper Helmet & Liner with Pathfinder Camouflage Pattern and Original 2" Helmet Net
Original US WWII M2 helmet shell and liner. Both pieces have been restored to M2 paratrooper helmet specifications with high quality reproduction M-2 helmet accessories. This M2 paratrooper helmet comes complete with hand painted Pathfinder camouflage pattern, helmet net and all the accessories pictured.
It will include:
One US WWII M-2 helmet shell (front seam) & M-2 Paratrooper helmet liner (with frontal eyelet hole)
The M-2 helmet has been totally restored (no dents or cracks). It has new exterior paint, cork textured, & swivel bale chinstrap loops. It has sewn airborne chinstraps with snaps (with early buckle and J hook) and hand-painted Pathfinder camouflage paint pattern
The M-2 liner provided is Grade I. It has been totally restored with new exterior paint (high gloss), new OD #3 HBT cloth suspension (which includes): upper suspension, lace cord, backstrap, two-piece nape strap, internal airborne snaps and OD #3 A straps with brass wire buckles (factory installed). It also includes sweatband, six "teethed" brass headband spring clips, leather liner strap (with matching black oxide cam latch, rivets and button loops), leather chincup (with chamois lining).
Airborne operations (such as in North Africa and Sicily) have shown pathfinder teams using the paint patterns for helmets and uniforms or camouflage purposes only. But during the Normandy Campaign, such paint patterns applied to pathfinder unit helmets were done with a vesicant paint that would turn pink when exposed to chemical agents, no difference in the appearance, just in the paint's composition.
Note: See FAQ page for explanation on difference between Grade I & II helmet liners
