World War I Australian Light Horse Trouser Puttees
This is a faithful reproduction of the cotton trouser leg wraps or "puttees" used by the Australian Light Horse during WWI . These khaki coloured wool strips were used in conjunction with the ankle boots. They were wrapped around the lower leg (from the ankle to the knee) to prevent mud and dirt from getting into the boots and breeches. These are sold in sets, with each strip measuring about 9' in length.
