Top Pots - Reproduction WWI Model 1877 French Army Uniform Iron Blue Wool Greatcoat
This a reproduction of the Model 1877 iron blue wool, double-breasted French Army Overcoat. It comes with two rows of six brass buttons (model 1871 pattern) in brass, has a standing collar with felt regimental numerals sewn upon them in iron blue. It is a very authentic reproduction and even has the Model 1913 shoulder strap (a stacked double roll).
A belt loop is located on the left side of the greatcoat, which fastens via a small button. This pattern French Army greatcoat was the most common used during the early years of WWI. It was not replaced as a garment for front line troops until mid 1915, but was continually worn to til the end of the war by new recruits during their training.
